Cannabis plants seized after Northumbria Police officers raid Heaton home

Drugs have been seized after police raided a home in Heaton.

Police officers were scene carrying out searches at a property on Stratford Road on Thursday afternoon.

Northumbria Police said the illegal substances were seized after a pre-planned drugs warrant was issued.

No-one has been arrested, the force said.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 8.45am today we executed a pre-planned drugs warrant at an address on Stratford Road, Newcastle.

“The search of the address is ongoing but officers have discovered a quantity of cannabis.

“Nobody has been arrested at this stage.”
