This year the Texas delegation to the 2019 NORML Conference and Lobby Day grew exponentially! We had a group of seven advocates that created the trip up to Washington, DC. Right here is how our pay a visit to went:
We began off the activities on Sunday by participating in the Leadership Certification exactly where we discovered from employees about ideal practices. Our Executive Director, Jax Finkel, participated as a instruction facilitator on the modules with regards to “Volunteer Engagement and Advocacy Training”, “Strategies for a Effective Lobby Day”, and “Taking Neighborhood Action”. Group members also had printed copies of their private stories to share. We engaged with legislators and employees on how they could have an effect at the federal level. It was a really various experience from 2017 and we have been in a position to receive feedback that we can function with. We will be offering more sources to the offices.
